Nurse Practitioner – Intermediate Professional (PSU0008)
Job Summary
Nurse Practitioners examine and treat University patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals; perform a variety of acute medical procedures such as eye examinations, splinting, suturing, wound care and treatment of potentially hazardous exposures; ensure proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery; prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests; advise patients about continuing care; act as a resource to University academic departments and or academic community.
Representative Duties
- Perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate diagnoses
- Develop and implement treatment regimens for patients
- Provide direct patient care and clinical management of illnesses or injuries
- Maintain detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognosis
- Analyze and interpret patients' history, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses
- Serve as a clinical and educational resource to other University departments including providing health education lectures to units and staff for health promotion, injury prevention, drug and alcohol use/abuse, infectious exposures, and other health topics
- Coordinate with case managers and worker’s compensation as needed on injury related cases
- Keep up-to-date technically and continually develop and maintain competence in clinical areas of practice

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00
