Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Intermediate Professional (PSU0010)
Job Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric assessment, examination, and treatment of a broad range of mental health concerns. This position provides client education, orders and reports on test results, and ensures that proper procedures are followed related to consultations.
Representative Duties
- Provide medical examinations, evaluations, and order testing according to best practice and standard of care
- Provide education and prevention services to patients
- Resolve complex and unusual issues as they present in client care, psychiatric care, and general medical situations
- Make recommendations based on clinical examinations, evaluation, and testing results
- Provide accurate and timely clinical records according to policies; provide clinical information to University departments and external parties when appropriate and requested
- Provide case management and referrals to students with complex diagnoses
- Lead or participate in committees, project teams, and/or clinical teams within the department or University
- Provide recommendations in the development of programs, policies, and procedures; evaluate and recommend adoption of new or enhanced approaches to delivery of services
- Participate in the development and delivery of psychiatric seminars for interns, graduate assistants, and externs
- Participate in internal staff meetings, case consultation, and professional development
- Maintain appropriate certification and continuing education necessary for licensure

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00
