Driving Evaluation Associate – Intermediate Professional (PSU0044)

Job Summary

The Driving Evaluation Associate provides driver evaluations and trainings to patients with physical and cognitive disabilities to assist them in maintaining independence, whether through conventional driving, driving with adaptive equipment, or a transport evaluation for a non-driver.

Representative Duties

  • Conduct driver's evaluations for patients with physical and cognitive disabilities to determine their potential for safe independent driving
  • Provide doctors and therapists with an objective assessment in determining if their patient is safe to continue or return to driving
  • Provide transport evaluation services for those who are not able to drive safely
  • Lead driver’s training for patients that have been evaluated for driving; utilize adaptive equipment when necessary
  • Author reports for all driver’s evaluation, training, and vehicle checkout sessions to be supplied to patients and their care team
  • Initiate prescriptions for adaptive equipment after patient has passed their drivers examination
  • Communicate with referral sources, vendors, and patients regarding equipment and modifications

Supervisory Responsibilities:

– Typically follows recommended course of action and procedures to resolve problems

– Work is generally monitored by supervisor
– Detailed instructions and procedures are generally provided
– Uses available guidelines to make appropriate adaptations to routine situations and refers other situations to supervisor

– Interprets and communicates information, ideas and instructions clearly and accurately both verbally and in written materials intended for distribution
Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 9
  • Minimum – $56,200.00
  • MidPoint – $68,800.00
  • Maximum – $81,500.00
