Export Compliance Specialist – Advanced Professional (PSU0102)

Job Summary

The Export Compliance Specialist helps enforce regulatory and University policy compliance governing the export of goods, technology, and information. Responsibilities include facilitating export control compliance of research and academic efforts; performing compliance reviews, investigations, and audits; keeping abreast of regulatory changes and providing appropriate notifications; contributing to policy reviews.

Representative Duties

  • Assist faculty, staff, students, visiting scientists, etc. conduct University activities in accordance with regulatory export controls including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Controls Regulations (OFAC); help determine if research and academic efforts are subject to controls.; provide advice and facilitate compliance
  • Provide advice on customs obligations, import limitations, licensing requirements, carnets, or other customs clearance and international shipment concerns and requirements; facilitate compliance
  • Identify activities requiring Technology Control Plans, Non-Disclosure Agreements, or other internal compliance documentation including documentation related to international scholars, visitors, and proposed hires
  • Respond to requests for internal compliance reviews; identify shortfalls, develop procedures to effectively manage concerns, and provide resolutions to facilitate compliance
  • Conduct quality assurance audits and inspections; record compliance data; prepare reports detailing findings; enact corrective actions
  • Keep abreast of export compliance rules, regulations, policies and procedures; communicate changes to appropriate personnel
  • Contribute to policy and procedure reviews; collaborate with partners including Offices of Sponsored Programs, Global Programs, General Counsel, Risk Management, and VP of Faculty Affairs

  • Comp Grade – 13
  • Minimum – $86,300.00
  • MidPoint – $107,900.00
  • Maximum – $129,500.00
