Engineering Program Management – Manager (PSU0136)
Job Summary
The Engineering Program Manager provides business management and operational leadership for an engineering program; designs program infrastructure to ensure contract fulfillment; leads strategic planning efforts in order to advance program goals and expand impact; and oversees a program team.
Representative Duties
- Provide leadership and oversight of an engineering program comprised of multiple projects, initiatives, and teams; manage and produce deliverables to meet sponsor expectations; responsible for successful and timely completion of contract deliverables
- Design program infrastructure; ensure organizational efficiency; allocate resources and identify resource needs; establish program climate, goals, and standards
- Responsible for all aspects of business development; identify potential partnerships and stakeholder engagement opportunities; pursue funding and new sponsorships; identify opportunities for program growth and expansion; establish the program vision and values; align program strategic plan with broader unit and University mission
- Lead strategic planning efforts including implementing, assessing, and revising processes and procedures; recommend changes that impact program direction, data reporting, analysis efforts, and long-range planning to advance and expand the program
- Provide regular oversight of budgets; prepare budget analysis and reports; coordinate and implement financial strategies integral to strategic planning to ensure cost effectiveness
- Prepare, review, and approve all financial, compliance, research administration, and contractual transactions and documentation
- Serve as the primary representative with the sponsor; propose and implement solutions; present reports; develop relationships to benefit program goals; evaluate and translate client/faculty needs into projects; negotiate contracts as needed
- Responsible for all safety, compliance, and risk management standards, requirements, and policies; manage and coordinate program specific security needs
- Engage industry partners to further program capabilities and impact; lead workshops, conferences, and outreach events to gain visibility and build network resources
- May conduct research and literature reviews on a breadth of complex concepts and technology areas
- Provide leadership for the program team; supervise, train, mentor, develop, and evaluate staff; oversee workflow and delegate assignments

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 16
- Minimum – $123,200.00
- MidPoint – $157,100.00
- Maximum – $191,000.00
