Campus Recreation Specialist – Intermediate Professional (PSU0417)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Campus Recreation Specialist provides general oversight of campus recreation operations, intramural programming, and the daily management of the Athletics and Recreation Building; fosters student engagement, promotes wellness, and ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations; supervises student employees.
- Provide direct, on-site professional oversight of the daily operations
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise student employees
- Coordinate and implement intramural sports and recreational programming
- Manage facility scheduling, including student use, campus events, and external rentals
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, risk management practices, and incident reporting procedures
- Monitor facility conditions, equipment usage, and coordinate maintenance needs with campus partners
- Collaborate in administering the budget; analyze financial data; recommend adjustments
- Promote recreation programs through campus marketing and outreach efforts
- Assess program participation and facility usage to inform continuous improvement
- Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to support engagement initiatives
