Environmental Services Supervisor – Senior Supervisor (PSU0663)
Job Summary
The Environmental Services Supervisor oversees the daily operations of an environmental services team to ensure a clean, safe, and sustainable environment within University facilities; coordinates custodial and general maintenance activities; implements environmental policies and leads a team to maintain high standards; ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and quality standards.
Representative Duties
- Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise employees; provide ongoing feedback, support, and development opportunities
- Develop work plans, including tasks to be performed and time required; prioritize and issue work assignments; provide direction to employees; inspect work for quality and productivity
- Coordinate work schedule, including planning for overtime, vacation requests, unexpected absences, etc.; approve timecards
- Develop and provide training; ensure staff is trained on the most current methodologies, safety practices, and technology
- Ensure the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain accurate records
- May manage and administer budget; monitor expenses and other cost control measures; work within established budget or spending limit
- Research, recommend, and order equipment, supplies, and materials; coordinate with external vendors
- Implement, enforce, and make recommendations for work rules, policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Perform inspections of work and worksites; investigate and report incidents or accidents
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and designated vendors; resolve issues or may make recommendations on how to resolve issues
- Ensure environmental services operations adhere to OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations; monitor personal protective equipment usage and implementation; review safety data; make and seek opportunities for improvement
- Implement sustainable practices within the facility, such as reducing waste and energy consumption; stay informed about environmental regulations and best practices
- Interact with facility occupants to address concerns and provide high-quality service
- Follow Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 8
- Minimum – $51,000.00
- MidPoint – $62,500.00
- Maximum – $74,000.00
