Student Insurance Manager – Manager (PSU0845)
Job Summary
The Student Insurance Manager is responsible for managing the student insurance program and all functions of the student health insurance office. This includes the hiring of new employees, supervision, and evaluation of staff, in addition to the development, implementation and maintenance of the student insurance database.
Representative Duties
- Oversee the daily management of University student health insurance plans and all functions of Student Health Insurance
- Develop, implement, and maintain the database within the UHS practice management system used to monitor and track all students and dependents
- Coordinate payroll deductions with Payroll, Academic departments, and University Accounting; supervise the resolution of problems and assure necessary adjustments are made
- Develop and manage annual budget for Student Health Insurance; project income based on enrollment projections and oversee and direct the audit of claims paid by the insurance companies
- Develop and maintain a network of academic department representatives and maintain administrative contacts
- Negotiate and oversee the student insurance plan and manage the annual budget for the office
- Oversee the evaluation of claims loss experience and other community health care system factor including the relationship between the University and specific contract health care providers
- Develop, manage, and oversee the student insurance waiver system
- Chair the Student Insurance Advisory Board to Student Health Insurance and manage all activity of the Board
- Counsel staff, faculty, students, and families about special concerns regarding students required to have health insurance
- Develop and supervise the delivery of educational and informational programs to students and staff; address issues about health insurance
- Recruit, train, direct the training of, and supervise staff in Student Health Insurance; conduct regular staff meetings, assign job duties, and supervise daily task performance as necessary

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 9
- Minimum – $56,200.00
- MidPoint – $68,800.00
- Maximum – $81,500.00

8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience
