Network Engineering Manager – Manager (PSU1078)
Job Summary
Network Engineering Managers are responsible for all aspects of an organization's network systems including software and hardware; recommend, implement, and maintain network architectures (i.e., LAN and WAN); serve as a manager overseeing a technical team(s) that provides mission-critical services and support to the University; are responsible for meeting service level commitments, collaborating with other technical teams, planning/management, and establishing a culture of excellent customer experience and service. Responsible for establishing tactical plans and working collaboratively across diverse groups to ensure projects and services are aligned with University goals and requirements.
Representative Duties
- Direct the work of network infrastructure design specialists/engineers; develop priorities for team; define processes, procedures, and policies for standard operations
- Oversee project implementations including directing project managers, evaluating deliverables, assessing risk, applying methodologies, and delegating assignments
- Develop business cases, project proposals, and multi-year strategies
- Ensure that foundational capabilities are in place such as security, disaster recovery, monitoring, capacity planning, automation, incident response, and problem management
- Develop, monitor, and report on Service Level Agreements (SLAs), metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Lead and/or contribute to the development of strategies for wireless and cellular service functions
- Collaborate on the development of budgets, forecasts, resourcing, cost of services, and planning activities
- Identify ways to improve team efficiency and effectiveness
- Lead teams in identification, testing/piloting, and implementation of new tools, techniques and technologies aligned with the needs of the University

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 14
- Minimum – $97,100.00
- MidPoint – $121,400.00
- Maximum – $145,700.00
