Job Summary

The IT Trainer develops and delivers technology training for audiences in a variety of environments; identifies and designs training content to meet business needs; develops strategies to deliver engaging and effective training experiences; assesses training outcomes and implements changes to improve results.

Representative Duties

  • Develop and design documentation, manuals, guides, visual aids, presentations, and course content that support technology instruction and education for students, faculty, and staff
  • Deliver training for faculty and staff users in individual, small and large group, on-demand, and virtual environments
  • Develop strategies to facilitate self-directed learning; ensure access to resources including on-line documents, user guides, and videos
  • Identify technological skill sets needed to perform specific roles and conduct skills gap analysis; understand business needs and expected outcomes of clients to develop relevant training content
  • Collect, measure, and assess customer satisfaction and training outcomes; establish performance metrics; incorporate feedback and performance data into recommendations to improve services
  • Provide technical guidance, consultation, and individual learner support
  • Research and maintain knowledge of new software and/or applications to identify new skills needed; determine system utilization requirements that inform training content
  • Manage training program administration including creating training schedules, promoting training opportunities, and establishing processes related to enrollment and feedback collection
  • Use research based instructional methods to engage trainees; integrate emerging trends into training practices

Supervisory Responsibilities:
– Indirect supervisor or mentor for other full–time employees

– May validate and pay invoices
– May monitor/track budgets and funding

  • Comp Grade – 10
  • Minimum – $61,800.00
  • MidPoint – $75,700.00
  • Maximum – $89,600.00
