Nursing Manager – Senior Manager (PSU1980)
Job Summary
The Nursing Manager is directly responsible for the leadership and supervision of the registered nurses and indirectly for the licensed practical nurses in assigned area. this position participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure quality nursing care for all patients, and is also responsible for HIPAA compliance, credentialing verification, fiscal and budgetary management, and delegation to nursing staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Representative Duties
- Supervise and provide leadership to the Registered Nurses and LPN nursing staff; may also oversee wage employees
- Mentor the RN nurse team leaders in Clinical Services; encourage and model constructive communication among all nursing staff via regular meetings
- Evaluate patient care activities through multiple modes such as periodic chart review, peer review and statistical report review, as well as monitoring after hours advice recommendations for care of students
- Participate in quality improvement activities within assigned department
- Create and continually monitor the nurse schedule to ensure safe and adequate daily coverage for patient care
- Support, and advocate, the coordination of care and referrals to professional community specialists and services organizations
- Oversee phone triage and office support staff duties
- Oversee budget and capital improvement projects; ensure services conform to university standards and policies
- Provide budgetary guidance and assistance as needed
- Develop, revise, and implement unit policies and procedures and ensure that standards are met; provide leadership for the development and implementation of nursing protocols, standards and goals
- Interview and hire nursing staff; oversee training for nursing personnel to ensure a smooth transition for new employees as well as current staff and participate in the selection process for new employees
- Develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate a wide range of health services, including primary patient care, emergency care, health education and wellness program planning
- Maintain a relationship with the University nursing units to facilitate cooperation and collaboration
- Oversee the administration of policies from the University, federal, local and state guidelines consistent with FERPA and HIPAA

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
