Job Summary

The Physician Assistant provides timely, efficient, and effective patient-centered care for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of wellness. This position conducts a variety of medical surveillance examinations and acts as a healthcare clinical resource for the University community.

Representative Duties

  • Review patient history and perform physical exam
  • Provide healthcare services and education aimed at preventing health problems and maintaining overall wellness
  • Communicate and exchange information with patients, their families, physicians, professional associates, and the healthcare system
  • Make decisions and recommendations about diagnostic and therapeutic interventions based on patient information, preferences, scientific evidence, and clinical judgement
  • Develop and carry out patient management plans; counsel and education patients and their families
  • Perform essential medical and surgical procedures as needed; perform a variety of acute medical procedures
  • Maintain awareness of different funding sources and payment systems that provide coverage for patients; practice cost-effective healthcare
  • Serve on committees, task forces, and working groups
  • Provide training and education to other staff; may provide training to interns and medical students
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives; cooperate and contribute to quality care
  • Coordinate with case managers and workers compensation as needed on injury related cases

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • MidPoint – $121,400.00
  • Maximum – $145,700.00
