Job Summary

The Student Orientation Specialist oversees the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of student orientation team; responsible for the development, implementation, and logistical support for select portions of the orientation program: pre- and post- program communications, and student led sessions; work collaboratively with staff in the office on the daily execution of orientation activities; respond and resolve student and parent/family members issues and concerns as they arise; partner with Student Affairs and Undergraduate Education to deliver and implement quality University and campus-wide student orientation activities.

Representative Duties

  • Develop and implement portions of the New Student Orientation program
  • Recruit, select, train, and supervise Student Staff Coordinators and Orientation Leaders
  • Help develop and administer office-wide program evaluation and assessment
  • Prepare content for presentations, publications, and websites
  • Respond to, and resolve student and parent/family members issues and concerns
  • Serve as instructor for Leadership Development orientation courses
  • Provide oversight for the office’s social media presence
  • May provide overnight and weekend on-call duty throughout the summer
  • May assist with other orientation and transition programs including International Student Orientation, Welcome Week, and change-of-campus programming initiatives
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

  • Minimum – $46,400.00
  • MidPoint – $56,800.00
  • Maximum – $67,300.00
