Occupational Health and Safety Manager – Senior Manager (PSU2293)
Job Summary
The Occupational Health and Safety Manager oversees and coordinates Occupational Health and Safety programs including laboratory safety, industrial hygiene, radiation protection, waste management, environmental protection, and other specific safety programs. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.
Representative Duties
- Lead department and staff; hire, develop, and conduct performance management
- Develop and maintain a strategic safety plan focusing on the recognition, evaluation and control of all hazards, and the protection of employees, and the University Community; determine if results are on target with University objectives and adjust as necessary
- Ensure regulatory compliance for safety programs through auditing and surveying work processes
- Develop, implement, and manage injury and illness prevention programs by performing root cause and failure analysis for incidents
- Participate in creating and revising University policies and programs
- Advise Senior Management on safety program issues and the effectiveness of injury prevention strategies
- Train management and technical service supervisors on safety initiatives/programs; keep employees abreast of the overall mission, vision, and goals for safety
- Manage departmental budget
- Advise on safety projects required for improvements
- Champion the implementation of Prevention Through Design process

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 14
- Minimum – $97,100.00
- MidPoint – $121,400.00
- Maximum – $145,700.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
