Job Summary

The Environmental Engineer utilizes a variety of techniques, both science and research based, to solve environmental issues. This position often partners with an architectural agency or local government to identify environmental issues or concerns, and works with a team to develop and execute remediation projects.

Representative Duties

  • Utilize science and research-based techniques to solve environmental problems
  • Develop and manage projects that aim to solve environmental issues
  • Survey environmental areas to diagnose problems and determine potential solutions
  • Provide consultation to clients, stakeholder, or government entities on air pollution, water quality, emergency waste response/clean-up, and other issues
  • Evaluate the environmental impact of different organizational practices and make recommendations for changes
  • Assess how a site or location complies with environmental regulations
  • Promote green operations and interventions to better care for the environment
  • Measure and improve air quality systems
  • Audit project adherence to applicable environmental policies and regulations

Supervisory Responsibilities:
– Indirect supervisor for other full–time employees
– May serve as direct supervisor for part–time, student, and/or temporary workers, volunteers, or a full–time employee

– Monitors and tracks budgets and funding
