Job Summary

The Academic Records Manager supervises an academic records team; oversees the maintenance, management, and protection of student academic records; ensures compliance with institutional policies, legal regulations (such as FERPA), and industry best practices; collaborates with various departments to ensure smooth academic operations.

Representative Duties

  • Oversee the accurate and efficient maintenance of student academic records, including grades, course registrations, degree audits, and academic histories
  • Lead and supervise academic records staff; establish job expectations, assign duties, ensure adherence to University policies and procedures, and evaluate performance
  • Ensure the secure storage, retrieval, and management of academic records
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Registrar’s office and academic departments to ensure timely and accurate updates to student records
  • Ensure adherence to University policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of all student academic records
  • Solve complex academic records issues and serve as an escalation point for problems
  • Recommend operational procedural changes to increase efficiencies and improve services
  • Oversee enrollment and degree reporting for unit
  • Manage a variety of confidential and sensitive communications
  • Ensure adherence to privacy laws, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), and institutional policies regarding the confidentiality and security of student information
  • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and ensure records management practices remain compliant with state and federal laws
  • May participate on teams to implement record system changes

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 11
  • Minimum – $68,200.00
  • MidPoint – $85,200.00
  • Maximum – $102,300.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
