Greenhouse Operations Supervisor – Senior Supervisor (PSU1920)
Job Summary
The Greenhouse Operations Supervisor coordinates the operation, management, and use of the greenhouses, growth chambers, and Headhouse facilities.
Representative Duties
- Monitor and control greenhouse environments and growth chambers; ensure correct climate conditions for research and teaching activities
- Coordinate integrated pest management program for greenhouses and growth chambers
- Coordinate rental use and space assignment of greenhouse and growth chamber facilities for faculty, researchers, students, and instructors
- Provide assistance to faculty, staff, and students in acquiring materials for greenhouse research and teaching activities, including field soil, plant growth media and media components, growing containers, fertilizers, plant labels, sample collection containers, building materials, etc.
- Plan and carry out preventative and corrective biological and chemical pest control strategies
- Ensure pesticides are applied in a safe manner by qualified applicators
- Maintain pesticide inventories, pesticide application records, and pesticide application licenses to comply with university, state, and federal regulations
- Manage greenhouse budgets and purchasing
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 10
- Minimum – $61,800.00
- MidPoint – $75,700.00
- Maximum – $89,600.00
