Athletic Equipment Manager – Manager (PSU1613)
Job Summary
The Athletic Equipment Manager oversees equipment services for the athletics department; develops and implements procedures for equipment purchasing, control, distribution, and quality to meet equipment needs for assigned sports; manages equipment budgets; establishes relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Representative Duties
- Oversee and manage athletic equipment services, including equipment rooms, inventory, budgets, procedures and policies, and vendor relationships
- Hire, supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned employees
- Manage sport specific contracts, working with sales representatives; work to secure athletic equipment and other athletic equipment products for assigned sports programs; participate in vendor negotiations
- Foster and manage relationship and accounts with associated equipment brands
- Serve as budget administrator for the equipment budget; track, manage, approve, revise, and forecast equipment budgets across sports
- Oversee inventory and inventory control software in compliance with NCAA rules regarding issuance of apparel and footwear
- Ensure equipment facility safety, security, and function; oversee facility set-up for events and visitors
- Uphold athletic equipment to NOCSAE (National Operating Committee for Safety in Athletic Equipment) and NAERA (National Athletic Equipment Reconditioner Association) standards; ensure all protective equipment is properly certified
- Ensure appropriate management of brand, logos, and wordmarks; work with university brand managers to ensure product represents the University properly
- Develop and implement procedures for equipment purchasing, distribution, and inventory control
- Develop equipment quality standards and guidelines; ensure equipment policies are followed when distributing and using equipment; ensure team equipment needs are met across sports, including product inventory, quality, and performance

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 12
- Minimum – $76,700.00
- MidPoint – $95,900.00
- Maximum – $115,100.00
