Job Summary

The Audit Manager leads annual risk assessment and audit plan development; directs and oversees audits, consultation, and risk assessments; reviews and approves audit findings, makes corrective action assessments and directs follow-ups; provides technical and procedural advisory/consulting services; oversees external audit preparation; directs employee theft and financial fraud, waste, and abuse investigations; participates in Board of Trustee Audit Committee meetings; develops budgets; supervises staff; coordinates internship programs.

Representative Duties

  • Lead annual risk assessment and audit plan development; create audit schedule; determine functional expertise required for each audit; provide scheduling flexibility for special requests and ad hoc audits
  • Direct audits, consultations, and risk assessments evaluating information technology, financial, and operational controls; review and approve audit plans; ensure audits are on schedule, within budget, conform to standards, and meet audit objectives
  • Review and approve audit findings/recommendations; assess corrective actions/proposals; direct follow-up; make oral/written presentations
  • Provide technical and procedural consulting services; as needed, conduct or direct feasibility studies and preliminary investigations
  • Ensure administrators and managers are prepared for external audits; direct pre-audit inspections; manage University response
  • Direct and manage investigations into suspected employee theft of assets or financial fraud, waste, or abuse
  • Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and emerging industry trends; disseminate information to relevant parties; update policies and procedures; ensure compliance
  • Participate in Board of Trustee Audit Committee meetings; assist in Board material preparation
  • Develop, plan, forecast, and oversee budgets
  • Hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate employees; identify and provide professional development opportunities
  • Support the University’s teaching, research, and service mission; direct and coordinate internship programs

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 15
  • Minimum – $109,300.00
  • MidPoint – $136,600.00
  • Maximum – $164,000.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
