Job Summary

The Information Technology Auditor plans, coordinates, and conducts Information Technology audits to identify and assess internal control weaknesses and risks; drafts audit reports; makes presentations; provides recommendations; conducts audit follow-ups; supports non-scheduled audit requests.

Representative Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct enterprise, general network, and application specific Information Technology audits; identify and assess internal control weaknesses/risks; obtain, analyze, evaluate, and document evidentiary material on systems/activities under review
  • Draft audit reports for submission to leadership; identify issues of concern and suggest improvement recommendations
  • Present findings to auditee management; conduct audit follow-up; ensure management is addressing weakness points and control deficiencies as recommended/prescribed
  • Support non-scheduled audit information and engagement requests, including special fraud investigations; extract and analyze data, interview employees; draft reports
  • Serve as information technology technical advisor; provide new system selection and implementation consultation and advice
  • Keep abreast of statutory, regulatory, and University policy and procedure requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities:
– Indirect supervisor for other full–time employees
– May serve as direct supervisor for part–time, student, and/or temporary workers, volunteers, or a full–time employee

– May validate and pay invoices
– Monitors and tracks budgets and funding
