Job Summary

The Human Resources Strategic Partner leads all functional areas of human resources for an assigned business unit, college, or campus. Responsibilities include advising and supporting unit leadership in the administration of HR functions; ensure applicable policy, guideline, and regulatory compliance.

Representative Duties

  • Lead all functional areas of human resources for assigned unit such as talent acquisition, talent management, labor and employee relations, benefits, and compensation and classification
  • Serve in a partnered relationship with unit leadership; provide guidance/support related to the unit strategic plan, mission, vision, and goals
  • Ensure high quality customer service to all employees in assigned area by maintaining a high level of engagement in areas with direct employee impact
  • Function as a liaison between central HR and the unit/College/Campus to support the initiatives and goals of both parties
  • Ensure data integrity is maintained and HR initiatives, processes, operational updates are communicated to and implemented in the assigned area
  • Collaborate with HR partners; identify the required talent management and learning and development solutions for assigned area
  • Enable reward structures/guidelines to reward performance
  • Assess and define future workforce requirements and provide input to the talent strategy for the assigned area
  • Drive change through process and in-depth business knowledge in order to proactively identify opportunities and solutions to emerging issues
  • Coordinate with HR Shared Services departmental leads and relevant University stakeholders to ensure the unit is best able to meet the needs of its employees
  • Serve as primary contact for reported incidents through the Hotline, Affirmative Action Office, University Police & Public Safety, Behavior Threat Management, or other University services
  • Research, investigate and participate in resolution management for all matters
  • Serve as the primary contact and subject matter expert for all employee relations and labor relations matters
  • Direct business processes and workflows to support programs/organizational initiatives; monitor and make necessary improvements
  • Manage and direct the work of one or more HR Consultants, providing guidance and support as needed

  • Comp Grade – 14
  • Minimum – $97,100.00
  • MidPoint – $121,400.00
  • Maximum – $145,700.00
