Instructional Designer – Senior Professional (PSU0735)
Job Summary
The Instructional Designer partners with clients to develop educational structures; applies learning science principles to the design of innovative and effective learning experiences; integrates strategies for leveraging instructional technology; and collaborates with clients and information/instructional technology staff to resolve issues related to technology use in teaching, including application assessment, content development, and deployment methodologies.
Representative Duties
- Provide consultation and partnership to faculty or course instructors in the development, design, and integration of innovative instructional structures, solutions, delivery methods, and assessment strategies
- Assess faculty/client instructional needs; establish appropriate instructional goals and learning objectives
- Research and apply pedagogical principles, learning theories, and emerging academic and technology trends in the design of instructional systems to ensure a high quality, collaborative, and adaptable learning experience
- Assess and select instructional media, new technologies, and software systems to aid in course delivery
- Partner with faculty/subject matter expert to author course objectives, course content, assignments, learning resources, documentation, and assessments
- Collaborate with faculty to design outcomes assessment strategies; establish processes and procedures for data collection, data reduction, and data analysis
- Collaborate design team to improve course platforms and functionality
- Pursue, propose, and conduct learning theory and pedagogy research opportunities to further knowledge of the field of instructional design
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 10
- Minimum – $61,800.00
- MidPoint – $75,700.00
- Maximum – $89,600.00
