Job Summary

Instructional Technology Specialists develop engaging and immersive learner experiences by leveraging digital technologies and design principles to create media solutions; produce media assets including graphics, video, and data visualizations; design virtual learning environments, and collaborate with production teams to develop digital materials that align with course objectives.

Representative Duties

  • Evaluate academic program and course needs to develop visual design plans and digital media solutions
  • Curate, design, and produce media for course assets including infographics, illustrations, video and audio composition, animations, diagrams, and models
  • Design and maintain virtual learning environments including virtual studios, immersive experiences, and extended reality experiences
  • Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, and production teams to develop and deliver online course materials/experiences; ensure that design plans align with pedagogical objectives
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies in learning design, media trends and theories related to learner experience
  • Ensure accessibility standards are met; integrate assistive technology, accessible design, and universal design principles and guidelines with digital material
  • Create original artwork and illustrations for use in digital media
  • Maintain and support learner technologies for use in instructional activities including multimedia recording and editing software and digital media equipment
  • Develop training materials for faculty in the use of lecture technologies and video hosting platforms
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

  • MidPoint – $56,800.00
