Paralegal – Intermediate Professional (PSU0002)

Job Summary

Paralegals work under attorney supervision and assist in delivering legal services to leadership, officials, staff, and students. Paralegals draft documents, interview clients and witnesses, perform legal research, prepare reports, assist during litigation proceedings, and conduct case management. Paralegals may also provide office management/administration support.

Representative Duties

  • Prepare various legal documents and pleadings for attorney review and signature including subpoenas, discovery requests, motions, responses, memoranda, agreements, contracts, affidavits, wills, and powers of attorney; file documents with courts and opposing counsel
  • Assist with litigation proceedings; locate, schedule, and interview witnesses and interested parties; interview clients; conduct legal research; draft summary reports; handle exhibits; take notes during hearings
  • Conduct case management; track subpoenas and discovery, etc.; collect/prepare/organize exhibits; maintain case files
  • Make presentations to student organizations, University constituents, and external organizations
  • Provide office administration; manage attorney calendar, monitor expenses, order supplies, schedule meetings/conferences, arrange travel
  • Provide notarial services to students and University employees

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 9
  • Minimum – $56,200.00
  • MidPoint – $68,800.00
  • Maximum – $81,500.00
