Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily operational oversight and personnel management of Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Services Associates, and other support staff within the University Health Services (UHS) Pharmacy; supports the Pharmacy Manager in the effective delivery of pharmacy services; ensures efficient, accurate, and compliant pharmacy services while maintaining high standards of customer care and team performance; adheres to collective bargaining agreements; oversees pharmacy billing, utilization management, and third-party management systems; works collaboratively with Pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes and drive operational excellence.

  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Services Associates, and other pharmacy services staff; provide coaching, training, and performance management
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering ongoing professional development and performance improvement
  • Manage staff scheduling, workflow, and daily assignments to ensure adequate coverage across pharmacy operations
  • Oversee front-end pharmacy operations including customer service delivery, telephony systems, and resolution of patient concerns
  • Manage the inventory and ordering of over-the-counter (OTC) medications and front-end supplies
  • Monitor and improve operational metrics, including prescription turnaround time, customer satisfaction, and inventory accuracy
  • Oversee pharmacy billing processes, including reconciliation and coordination of Student Health Insurance Plan ledger billing
  • Manage the pharmacy's third-party management system to ensure accurate claims processing and reimbursement
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pharmacy software systems, vendor ordering systems, and telephony systems to ensure operational functionality
  • Compile, analyze, and present financial and utilization data to business and finance staff and other stakeholders
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and enforcement of pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and university guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and HIPAA standards
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to elevate the standard of pharmacy services
  • Serve on relevant UHS committees and contribute to broader organizational goals and initiatives
  • Adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 8
  • Minimum – $51,000.00
  • MidPoint – $62,500.00
  • Maximum – $74,000.00
