Office of University Development Manager – Senior Manager (PSU0269)
Job Summary
The Office of University Development Manager oversees the strategic and operational management of activities related to a specified management area as it impacts the performance of an organization; management areas include, but are not limited to, units such as Hershey Medical Center, major gifts, annual giving, office of donor relations and special events, office of gift planning, donor services, corporate and foundation relations, research and prospect development, leadership gifts, and commonwealth campuses; proactively leads employees and supports diversity through hiring, retention, and promotional activities; ensure established standards of continuous quality improvement are met; and provide leadership for outstanding customer service at all levels of the organization.
Representative Duties
- Establish and implement a highly developed strategy for fundraising programs
- Manage training programs for staff for assigned area
- Participate in strategic planning and updates; serve on central operations group where appropriate
- Manage and/or support volunteers for current campaign, keeping a comprehensive list, managing communication for campaign chair, developing surveys, as needed, and to determine training needs
- Support and/or direct in identifying, cultivating and soliciting alumni and other individuals; develop knowledge of donors’ interests
- Develop unit policy and strategic direction within guidelines of unit’s objectives; ensure that operational and strategic goals are met
- Develop policies and procedures and ensure they are being met
- Assure acknowledgment of gifts and timely reporting of their use; ensure proper publicity for donors
- Develop proposals and coordinate fund-raising efforts with University Development to eliminate duplication of efforts
- Manage assigned staff, ensure successful completion of fund-raising tasks and evaluate staff performance on difficult work assignments and make recommendations for professional development opportunities

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 14
- Minimum – $97,100.00
- MidPoint – $121,400.00
- Maximum – $145,700.00
