Psychiatrist – Senior Professional (PSU0279)
Job Summary
The Psychiatrist provides and/or coordinates psychiatric services in the unit and advises administration on unique issues related to psychiatric services. This position provides direct clinical services including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and consultation with unit and University health services staff on mutual clients.
Representative Duties
- Provide thorough psychiatric evaluations; review history; provide mental status examination; review all available records and psychological and medical tests
- Share impressions with the client and make recommendations including discussing risk/benefit ratios
- May provide assessment of suicidal/homicidal risk and discuss appropriate intervention and treatment
- Maintain timely notes/documentation of appointments
- Provide psychiatric medication management follow up care
- Provide case management; request prior records or forwarding records to future providers; speak with caregivers or other family members of the client; communicate with faculty; provide letters for faculty or for other university administrative purposes; complete forms for client; and assist in obtaining necessary community services
- Consult and collaborate with other units and UHS Staff on mutual clients
- Provide orientation and consultation to unit trainees; provide Psychiatric Seminar/Case Conference to doctoral interns, as well as informal education/consultation with other trainees
- Engage in continuous professional development and continuing education; maintain necessary certifications and licensures

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 19
- Minimum – $187,500.00
- MidPoint – $239,000.00
- Maximum – $290,600.00
