Police Lieutenant – Senior Supervisor (PSU0281)
Job Summary
The Police Lieutenant enforces national, state and local laws as well as University regulations through investigation, apprehension, and prosecution of violators. This position demonstrates the ability to evaluate and apply tactical knowledge, skills, and abilities to respond to dangerous or potentially dangerous incidents.
Representative Duties
- Act as Station Commander or Shift Commander at assigned location
- Supervise assigned staff both sworn and non-sworn personnel at assigned location
- Coordinate work and oversee the daily operations of the police force including performance evaluations, investigations, training, disciplinary process, hiring, promotion, authorizing vacation requests, reviewing employee timecards, interpreting and communicating laws and policies, assuring staff compliance with established laws and policies, assisting with the development and delivery of training and case management
- Represent department on appropriate committees and attend meetings
- Assist with the development of policy and interpretation of laws and criminal procedure
- Manage the parking program, the property inventory, and the lost and found program where required
- Conduct investigations involving employee conduct
- Complete special projects to include policy development, VIP special event planning and security operations and specialized research for initiatives being considered by the department as assigned
- Manage Police and Public Safety budgets at location as required
- Develop, implement, and conduct campus safety and security programs
- Perform all the duties of Police Officers when needed

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 12
- Minimum – $76,700.00
- MidPoint – $95,900.00
- Maximum – $115,100.00
