Creamery Operations Manager – Senior Manager (PSU0399)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Creamery Operations Manager leads operational areas within the Berkey Creamery including business administration, compliance and safety, manufacturing and production, and warehousing and distribution; develops and implements business plans to increase revenue and optimize operations; hires, supervises, and evaluates employees.
- Lead multiple operational areas within the Creamery, including food safety, marketing, sales, customer service, financial administration, manufacturing, and production
- Continually assess manufacturing, production, and/or sales operations and procedures to increase efficiency and maintain product standards; ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety and quality requirements
- Develop business plans to improve customer experience, optimize production, and increase sales
- Design and implement sales plans for areas including wholesale and e-commerce; direct sales strategies
- Identify marketing opportunities; oversee product branding; monitor industry trends and apply to marketing strategies; partner with unit and University marking teams to promote the Creamery
- Develop and/or administer budget; manage operating and capital expenses; forecast profit plans; analyze financial data to identify trends that inform pricing or budget changes
- Lead Creamery safety programs to ensure employee and visitor welfare; develop and deliver safety trainings; develop safety documentation, assessment, and reporting practices
- Oversee sanitation and coordinate maintenance needs of the facility; create and maintain a master sanitation and maintenance schedule/program
- Manage audits, inspections, and certifications related to dairy and food processing and safety
- Direct all maintenance activities, partner with Office of Physical Plant and external vendors to maintain Creamery facilities and equipment; develop preventative maintenance programs; oversee and assess capital improvement projects
- Evaluate equipment needs and recommend upgrades or new technology when necessary
- Supervise inventory control efforts including routine counting and reporting of ingredients, packaging, and finished goods; maintain adequate inventory of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging supplies
- Manage storage facilities including cleanliness and organization for optimized efficiency and compliance with food safety regulations
- May oversee shipping, distribution, and receiving efforts for the facility as related to plant operations; may manage delivery truck fleet
- Lead, direct, hire, train, coach, supervise, schedule, and evaluate employees; recommend, plan, and coordinate professional development opportunities; adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions

- Minimum – $76,700.00
- MidPoint – $95,900.00
