Job Summary

Executive Chefs provide leadership, overall direction, and operational management of dining, catering, banquet, and retail kitchens. Responsibilities include developing and testing recipes, creating and updating menus, managing inventories, ensuring regulatory compliance, providing facility design and equipment purchase consultations, monitoring customer service, and supervising staff.

Representative Duties

  • Develop and test recipes; research worldwide cooking trends and food marketing; test, develop, document, evaluate, and implement necessary adjustments to innovative new dishes, concepts, and food programs; analyze recipes to determine menu item costs
  • Plan and manage menus; restructure menus to reflect sustainability, market shifts, seasonal availability, student/customer preferences; create globally inspired menu selections and heritage month menus; create special occasion menus for weddings, parties, banquets, etc.
  • Monitor, evaluate and provide facility design and equipment repair/obsolescence consultation; manage inventories; purchase food items and supplies; identify cost containment measures and maximize revenue sources
  • Keep abreast of food safety, sanitation, and other regulatory requirements; develop operational changes, policies, and procedures; establish standards; develop and conduct training; ensure compliance
  • Manage events and ensure a quality customer service experience for internal and external customers; interact with customers, guests, staff
  • Direct and oversee investigations and problem resolution related to customer service, product quality, and personnel performance
  • Lead, direct, hire, train, coach, supervise, schedule, and evaluate employees; recommend, plan, and coordinate professional development opportunities; adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in hearings/proceedings

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 13
  • Minimum – $86,300.00
  • MidPoint – $107,900.00
  • Maximum – $129,500.00

10+ years of relevant experience, includes 3+ years of supervisory experience
