Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Commonwealth Campus Facilities Manager is responsible for the leadership, operation, and performance of facilities services at one or more Commonwealth Campus locations; ensures the delivery of safe, reliable, and high-quality facilities operations that support the University's mission; provides both strategic and day-to-day oversight of maintenance, operations, and support services, while implementing institutional priorities, policies, and standards at the campus level; leads local facilities teams, manages budgets and resources, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives; serves as the primary facilities contact for campus leadership and stakeholders, balancing operational demands with long-term planning and customer service excellence.

  • Manage and oversee all facilities operations for assigned campus locations, including maintenance, utilities, custodial services, and grounds
  • Ensure efficient, effective, and customer-focused service delivery aligned with University standards
  • Coordinate daily work activities and establish priorities to meet campus needs
  • Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate facilities staff; provide leadership in work planning, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks and projects
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous development
  • Ensure compliance with human resources policies, procedures, and applicable labor agreements
  • Develop, manage, and monitor operating budgets for assigned campus facilities; track expenditures, forecast needs, and ensure responsible fiscal management
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic facilities plans for assigned campuses
  • Identify facility-related needs and recommend improvements, upgrades, or capital projects
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance operations, sustainability, safety, and customer service
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and University policies; coordinate with regulatory agencies on code interpretation and compliance matters
  • Lead the implementation of safety programs and regulatory requirements
  • Provide oversight and input into design, construction, renovation, and maintenance projects
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects meet campus operational needs; monitor project progress and ensure alignment with scope, budget, and timelines
  • Lead and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives at the campus level
  • Analyze operational processes and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement; ensure consistent application and evaluation of processes to meet quality and service standards
  • Respond to and resolve facilities-related issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Support and implement emergency preparedness plans and response protocols

  • Minimum – $76,700.00
  • MidPoint – $95,900.00
