Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Energy Management Consulting Manager leads the delivery of electricity and natural gas procurement and energy management services, providing strategic, technical, and operational oversight of client programs and procurement activities; manages team resources and performance; ensures consistent and high-quality service delivery; provides leadership in energy market analysis, procurement strategy, forecasting, risk management, and emerging energy initiatives; drives process improvements; develops strategic industry and stakeholder relationships; supports business development and portfolio growth; leads strategic initiatives that enhance energy management services and client outcomes.


  • Direct the delivery of electrical and natural gas procurement strategies and services; oversee market research, procurement, and contract management processes and strategies
  • Provide direction and oversight for the preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of energy procurement solicitations to ensure the appropriate consideration of pricing, contract terms, market conditions, and risk
  • Manage and oversee a portfolio of client programs, ensuring effective resource allocation, consistent service delivery, client satisfaction, and achievement of program objectives
  • Coordinate with internal staff and external resources to establish procurement schedules, manage procurement events, facilitate supplier transitions, and support contract implementation
  • Monitor electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, utility, and related markets; provide leadership in assessing market trends, pricing, regulatory developments, supply conditions, and procurement risks
  • Guide the development and use of forecasting models, budget projections, market analyses, and other analytical tools to support client decision-making and energy cost management
  • Oversee the quality, integrity, and effective use of utility account and energy market data; provide technical leadership on demand response, peak load reduction, distributed energy resources, sustainability, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and utility incentive programs
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve team processes, procurement methodologies, analytical capabilities, client services, and program effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain relationships with energy suppliers, utilities, government agencies, industry organizations, and other stakeholders to support program capabilities and client objectives
  • Support business development, client acquisition, portfolio growth, and expansion of energy management services by identifying opportunities and contributing technical and strategic expertise
  • Supervise and develop energy management consulting professionals and other assigned employees; provide guidance, coaching, training, and performance feedback; review work products for quality, consistency, and accuracy; promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure the team maintains current knowledge of energy markets, regulatory requirements, emerging technologies, industry practices, and relevant developments; provide training and development opportunities
  • Establish and maintain consistent procedures, standards, and best practices for energy procurement, market analysis, client reporting, data management, and related services
  • Monitor team and program performance and prepare or oversee management reports, operational metrics, annual reports, and other organizational reporting requirements
  • Lead strategic planning and organizational initiatives related to energy management services, procurement programs, sustainability, technology, and service delivery

  • Comp Grade – 15
  • Minimum – $115,860.00
  • MidPoint – $144,804.00
  • Maximum – $173,844.00
