Database Administration Manager – Manager (PSU0988)
Job Summary
Database Administration Managers oversee the administration of the organization's database(s); analyze the organization's database needs and develops a long-term strategy for data storage; establish policies and procedures related to data security and integrity; monitor and limit database access as needed; oversee the design, maintenance and implementation of the systems that manage databases; implement backup and restoration strategy.
Representative Duties
- Lead the administration, design, analysis, implementation, and maintenance of complex database structures of critical business value with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection, and security
- Identify, define, and assess the properties and specifications necessary for the database management system (DBMS) to meet current and future needs of the organization
- Fulfill Service Manager responsibilities including the development, monitoring, and reporting of service level agreements (SLAs), metrics, KPIs, and continual service improvement
- Oversee capacity planning, incident response, problem management, and implementation of automation
- Ensure database optimization, database integrity (relational integrity), and integrity
- Develop database maintenance procedures and backup/restore methods to protect the enterprise data; create innovative strategies and best practices to replicate the data to provide high availability
- Ensure project and department milestones and goals are met on time and within budget
- Support developers with difficult and complex database design and coding problems and provide technical guidance to other staff
- Manage staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 14
- Minimum – $97,100.00
- MidPoint – $121,400.00
- Maximum – $145,700.00

8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience
