Disability Services Adviser – Senior Professional (PSU1223)
Job Summary
The Disability Services Adviser ensures that students with disabilities receive equal access to educational pursuits through the provision of reasonable accommodations. This position partners with faculty and staff to implement accommodations while maintaining the integrity of courses, programs, or polices.
Representative Duties
- Meet individually with students in-person or virtually at least once per semester to determine appropriate academic accommodations, auxiliary aids, and services
- Conduct introductory interviews of students to understand: their perspective of having a disability, impact of functional limitations, history of past accommodations, psychosocial functioning, study skills and need for assistance from other campus resources
- Conduct follow-up meetings as needed to: review accommodation usage and efficacy; revise academic accommodation letters; address disability-related or academic concerns
- Create individualized student academic accommodation letters based on input from disability documentation and introductory interviews
- Make accommodation determinations using knowledge of varied disability types and applicable state and federal laws
- Correspond with students and refer them to campus and community resources
- Maintain accurate student records including, but not limited to, electronic notes of contacts with students and other constituents related to student cases
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on accommodation or academic issues in support of students with disabilities
- Provide students and their families with information on the Student Disability Resources’ registration and accommodation processes
- Review disability documentation in accordance with federal and state guidelines to evaluate eligibility for Student Disability Resources services; support students request for academic accommodations
- Represent Student Disability Resources, deliver presentations, and promote disability awareness

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 9
- Minimum – $56,200.00
- MidPoint – $68,800.00
- Maximum – $81,500.00
