Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Constituent Programming and Events Manager oversees the strategic development, implementation, execution, and assessment of constituent engagement programs, events, and related services designed to strengthen relationships between the University and external stakeholders, community partners, organizations, and affiliated groups; collaborates with institutional leadership, internal departments, and external constituents to advance engagement initiatives, enhance visibility, and support institutional priorities; provides leadership for complex programs and events and oversees staff, operational processes, and strategic planning activities related to constituent engagement and outreach.
- Manage, develop, direct, and coordinate constituent engagement programs, outreach initiatives, services, and events that support institutional objectives and strengthen external relationships
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new engagement initiatives, programs, and events, including revisions or enhancements to existing offerings and services
- Establish and implement strategic plans, goals, timelines, and operational processes for programs and events; coordinate staffing, logistics, communications, and support services as needed
- Ensure programs and events deliver high-quality customer service, accessibility, inclusivity, and positive participant experiences
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborative programming
- Develop and manage program and event budgets; identify operational needs, monitor expenditures, and ensure effective stewardship of resources
- Establish, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, standards, and best practices related to program administration, event management, constituent engagement, and operational activities
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of departmental systems, processes, technologies, and workflow procedures
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with University leadership, alumni, community organizations, corporate partners, vendors, volunteers, advisory groups, and external stakeholders
- Represent the University through participation in professional associations, community organizations, business groups, civic activities, and external engagement opportunities
- Oversee operational planning and administrative functions related to programs, events, and constituent engagement activities
- Establish performance metrics and key indicators to measure engagement success and operational effectiveness
- Analyze program outcomes, engagement data, and participation trends to evaluate effectiveness and recommend strategic improvements
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts among multiple departments and external partners to support initiatives and events
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee compliance with institutional policies and risk management requirements
- Collaborate in the development of long-range engagement strategies aligned with institutional priorities and community needs
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, contractual obligations, accessibility standards, and applicable regulations
- Provide leadership and direction for assigned staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and professional development
