Federal Security Assistant – Senior Support (PSU1660)

Job Summary

Federal Security Assistants work within the Applied Research Laboratory to provide assistance in the execution for federal government agency and other industrial security programs as well as their related security activities; review and ensure compliance with government and University security policies, directives, and procedures while supporting the safe and secure performance of sponsored program research.

Representative Duties

  • Prepare and review security forms, databases, reports, correspondence and initial submission and periodic reinvestigations of personnel clearances
  • Maintain and update various security manuals, briefings, and handbooks
  • Facilitate the intake of all collateral security matters and determine appropriate processes
  • Review and process incoming classified visit requests as well as outgoing classified visit requests for all employees and cleared personnel
  • Brief and de-brief employees on collateral security procedures and regulation
  • Provide broad assistance with preparations for collateral security inspections by U.S. government agencies
  • Assist with the coordination of the courier program and review of collateral classified material with the proper markings

Supervisory Responsibilities:

– May validate and pay invoices
– May monitor/track budgets for specific area and/or grant(s)

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 6
  • Minimum – $42,100.00
  • MidPoint – $51,600.00
  • Maximum – $61,000.00
