Electrical Engineer – Senior Professional (PSU1872)
Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer conducts investigations, evaluations, and applied research directed toward assisting clients and stakeholders in the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of buildings and energy use in compliance with codes, laws and regulations. This position uses engineering theories and principles and applies them in methods specific to the facility and problems encountered.
Representative Duties
- Survey facility operators and engineers to diagnose problems; analyze facility electrical systems and processes
- Investigate and identify solutions to complex electrical problems beyond the capability of common facility engineers
- Develop and prioritize deficiencies and opportunities for operational improvement
- Review electrical designs and plans and track implementation of proposed solutions; perform calculations to size distribution systems and associated equipment
- Create and issue design documents, RFIs, and change orders
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
- Examine and evaluate technical electrical engineering products, systems and subsystems
- Assist with developing educational courses and training customer base through electrical workshops, short courses, and certificate programs within field of expertise
- Prepare technical reports and make recommendations for energy improvements
- Help to develop solutions for issues of long- and short-range planning for capacity/load, energy use, budgeting, capital planning, regulatory/legal compliance, and capital renewal
- Evaluate and interpret current and evolving energy codes and regulations; evaluate and monitor system operation for compliance and efficiency
- Assist in the review and implementation of facility design and construction and develop standards for design and construction; develop operational and maintenance program parameters

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 13
- Minimum – $86,300.00
- MidPoint – $107,900.00
- Maximum – $129,500.00
