Human Resources Assistant – Senior Support (PSU1927)
Job Summary and Representative Duties
The Human Resources (HR) Assistant provides support to the HR team by assisting with recruitment, employee records, benefits administration, training, onboarding, timekeeping, payroll, and other HR-related tasks; supports the daily management of HR operations; administers various human resources programs and processes forms using the human resources information system (HRIS) and case management system.
- Respond to general employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and processes; refer to HR Shared Services, HR Professional Services teams, Human Resources Consultant, or Human Resources Strategic Partner as appropriate
- Assist with questions regarding the human resources information system (HRIS) such as timekeeping, leave balances, security roles, supervisory organization changes, recruiting support, etc.
- Monitor HRIS inbox and case management system for incoming tasks and inquiries; review, respond, and redirect as needed
- Assist with payroll administration by collecting and verifying timekeeping data, preparing reports, and resolving discrepancies
- Track pending transactions required for payroll deadlines; send reminders to ensure efficient process flow
- Provide administrative support to HR team, including preparing reports, correspondence, and presentations
- Assist with compliance-related tasks, including maintaining employee files, preparing for audits, and ensuring adherence to legal requirements; audit required training, clearance, certification, and licensure completion
- Coordinate the hiring process, review job announcements and advertisements, and organize interview materials
- Assist with the onboarding process; maintain up-to-date records of actions, decisions, and timeframes
- Plan and coordinate employee recognition events
- Assist with HR related projects including the recommendation of process improvements and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Help foster a positive and inclusive work environment by supporting various employee engagement initiatives

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 6
- Minimum – $42,100.00
- MidPoint – $51,600.00
