Construction Management – Advanced Professional (PSU2084)
Job Summary
The Construction Manager acts as the University’s primary point of contact for contractors and installers on construction projects when assigned; inspects project sites and monitors work for conformance with construction documents, University procedures, building codes/regulations, and adherence with the University’s Design and Construction standards; investigates, documents, and reports on problem situations, potential change orders, errors and omissions, and advises the contractor when necessary to implement corrective action; conducts (or attends) job conferences, compiles status reports, daily logs, and maintains/coordinates construction progress photos; during a project’s design phase, reviews documents for quality conformance, constructability, and proper sequencing/phasing; attends design review meetings, pre-bid conferences, and scoping meetings; during construction, coordinates the interaction and efforts of design professionals, University customers, OPP divisions, University agencies, and contractors to minimize disruption to the University and public; at the completion of the project, manages the punch-list process and building/project turnover to facilitate a smooth transition from contractor to customer.
Representative Duties
- Lead field-related activities at the job site, preparation of project status reports, and contractor evaluations
- Manage monthly certificate of payment process and ensures all required documentation is included
- Responsible for all facets of project controls (safety, RFI’s, submittals, change orders, and project close-out)
- Prepare and implement site logistics plans in collaboration with the contractor at the job site
- Conduct constructability reviews during the design stage of a project with positive impact on cost and quality (a focus on design standard conformance)
- Establish quality assurance plan for a project and monitors for compliance in the field
- Lead internal reviews of project documentation
- Manage purchase order process for services, ancillary equipment, or furnishings as required by project
- Maintain LEED documentation on selected projects and supports sustainability practices
- Involved with OPP-wide initiatives and programs
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 10
- Minimum – $61,800.00
- MidPoint – $75,700.00
- Maximum – $89,600.00
