Industrial Hygienist – Advanced Professional (PSU2089)
Job Summary
The Industrial Hygienist coordinates, plans, and conducts programs to educate employees about cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in the workplace. The Hygienist inspects facilities and work areas; prescribes corrective action to reduce health risks; provides advice on methods and procedures to reduce occupational health risks; determines measures to avoid recurrence of accidents; evaluates facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations; promotes maintenance of a sanitary working environment; conducts training in environmental compliance and in handling of hazardous materials.
Representative Duties
- Maintain industrial hygiene program to include identification, prioritization, assessment/evaluation, and control of workplace exposure contaminants
- Conduct compliance and risk assessments of assign programs
- Develop and implement programmatic tools, policies, and procedures related to the Indoor Air Quality Program, Respiratory Protection Program, Confined Space Entry Program, etc.
- Review laboratory processes, practices, procedures, protective equipment, and equipment installations related to occupational health, safety and exposure control
- Review and evaluate experimental procedures to include the use of sensing, monitoring, and alarming equipment and procedures to ensure safe working conditions and exposure control
- Review the design, construction, and renovation of laboratory spaces with respect to necessary isolation, ventilation, and related alarming and controls supporting safe laboratory function, operation, and exposure control
- Develop and provide train-the-trainer and general training programs

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 12
- Minimum – $76,700.00
- MidPoint – $95,900.00
- Maximum – $115,100.00
