Media Design Specialist – Advanced Professional (PSU2161)
Job Summary
Media Design Specialists are responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for original productions across digital, radio, and television; oversee the creation of new, multi-platform, content; may serve as the executive producer for some programs.
Representative Duties
- Develop processes, content priorities, initiatives, and strategies; make recommendations for improving or removing existing content
- Research industry trends; use information from market research and audience feedback to gauge interests
- Meet with station leadership, producers, and reporters about station priorities, funding, strategy, project ideas, and productions
- Attend events, interact with community and board members, provide updates, listen to community and university pitches and feedback, and develop content partnerships
- Conceive, recommend, and develop project/topic ideas, identify funding sources, develop budgets, timelines, and manage projects from successful funding proposal through completion
- May serve as executive producer on productions
- Work with producers to develop ideas and cultivate sources
- Create budgets and schedules for projects
- Review and approve content, adhering to ethical and editorial guidelines
- Create reports for station leadership and marketing team
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 8
- Minimum – $51,000.00
- MidPoint – $62,500.00
- Maximum – $74,000.00
