Job Summary and Representative Duties

The Producer/Director conceptualizes and creates content for a wide variety of distribution platforms such as television, radio, live events, and multimedia projects; develops and articulates production goals from a story telling, budget, production value, and time perspective; develops and maintains client relationships for diverse audiences.

  • Manage assigned video, audio, and multimedia projects from proposal through post-production
  • Research and develop content for assigned media projects
  • Participate in development and funding of projects, including proposal writing, presentations, and relationship building
  • Meet with clients to assess communications needs and conceptualize solutions using a variety of media; develop Memorandum of Understanding and change orders
  • Develop detailed production design plans and sets for assigned projects and manage budget, timeline, and status reporting
  • Plan, coordinate, identify and schedule talent, crew, equipment, and facilities to complete projects
  • Direct crews and assigned staff, both in studio and on location
  • Prepare programs and interstitials for broadcast and non-broadcast program distribution
  • Acquire and document appropriate rights and clearances
  • Provide advice and consultation on quality, design, and operation of productions
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management
