Research Compliance Manager – Principal Manager (PSU2236)
Job Summary
Research Compliance Managers organize, coordinate, and manage research compliance program daily activities ensuring legislative, regulatory, and policy compliance. Manager responsibilities include reviewing and assisting investigators with research protocols; providing advice, oversight, and administrative review of non-compliance and research misconduct matters; developing, reviewing, and revising policy, procedures, and guidelines; assisting with the accreditation processing; managing external requests for review board activity; developing and implementing an outreach program; keeping current on regulatory requirements; hiring, training, and supervising personnel; recruiting and appointing board members; and acting as unit director when needed.
Representative Duties
- Organize, coordinate, and manage research compliance program daily activities to ensure legislative, regulatory, and policy compliance
- Review new/modified research protocols; assist investigators, faculty, and staff with protocol submission compliance
- Provide subject-matter advice, oversight, and administrative review regarding non-compliance and research misconduct assessments, inquiries, investigations, audits, and inspections; prepare reports and follow-up as needed
- Develop, review, and, as necessary, revise research compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines enhancing institutional and departmental strategies; establish goals and objectives identifying successful program indicators
- Assist with accreditation process; prepare and submit annual/interim reports; coordinate re-accreditation materials and activities
- Manage external requests for institutional/departmental review board activity; review agreements; develop billing structure; serve as liaison
- Develop and implement outreach programs promoting responsible and compliant research conduct and integrity; conduct training sessions, seminars, and workshops
- Keep current on regulatory requirements and organizational demands impacting research compliance standards; disseminate information as needed; attend workshops and seminars
- Hire, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate research compliance personnel; identify and provide professional development opportunities; recruit and appoint personnel to review boards
- May serve as unit director during director’s absence

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 15
- Minimum – $109,300.00
- MidPoint – $136,600.00
- Maximum – $164,000.00
