Housing Services Coordinator – Senior Support (PSU2295)

Job Summary

The Housing Services Coordinator assists with student campus apartment and residence hall housing applications and housing assignments; processes housing contracts; provides customer service to students, parents, staff, and visitors.

Representative Duties

  • Coordinate the housing application and assignment process; facilitate background checks, building/housing area preferences, roommate requests, residence hall assignments, room changes, space management; process application cancellation requests
  • Process batch and individual room assignments for independent students, preferred housing groups, special circumstances, and routine/emergency room changes
  • Monitor and maintain housing contracts and waitlists; update student status; process contract offers
  • Collaborate with Residence Life and Housing staff to assign rooms to students with special accommodations, such as air conditioners, special beds, extra refrigerators, medical needs, etc.
  • Review, verify, and update financial transactions and records; identify issues and submit for review/correction; collect and process payments; provide students an explanation of charges, adjustments, and refunds
  • Process non-routine account actions, such as rent deposits, payment plans, break access housing, and damage fees
  • Serve as liaison to students, families, University faculty/staff, and others regarding housing assignment matters, questions, and concerns
  • Work collaboratively with the Bursar’s Office, Registrar’s Office, Admissions, Athletics, University Health Services, and other departments, as required
  • Review online/print marketing materials to ensure information is accurate and reflective of Housing processes and timelines
  • Work with campus partners to ensure housing is part of student recruitment efforts; represent Housing and Food Services at open houses, housing fairs, and information sessions
  • Research, identify, and forecast future housing needs, trends, and projections; prepare reports
  • Comply with University policy and regulatory requirements including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • May review and update building security access, as necessary

  • Comp Grade – 5
  • Minimum – $38,300.00
  • MidPoint – $46,900.00
  • Maximum – $55,500.00
