Data Science Manager – Manager (PSU2356)
Job Summary
The Data Science Manager leads a team in the creation of data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies; oversees the identification of trends, patterns, and anomalies found in large data sets and the development of insights by performing extensive data analysis; directs the interpretation of results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining; manages the design and implementation of big data solutions; ensures team continuously researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques.
Representative Duties
- Lead, design, and implement research studies that require the use of advanced analytics (e.g., logistic regression, cluster analysis, neural networks); collaborate with cross functional teams on the development of such studies; establish machine learning models to forecast outcomes
- Manage data science team members to ensure the efficient and effective completion of projects
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand information needs
- Leverage data and external data sources to develop complex models for data visualization and analysis
- Create data visualizations to identify, explain, and communicate important findings to stakeholders; supplement visualizations with narratives detailing observations and findings
- Determine the appropriate tools, techniques, and methodologies to extract data that produces meaningful results
- May lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of an institutional analytics strategy
- Oversee staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 15
- Minimum – $109,300.00
- MidPoint – $136,600.00
- Maximum – $164,000.00

8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience
