Job Summary

Facilities Compliance Specialists track, monitor, and ensure University compliance with architectural, environmental, engineering, and other facility-related regulations and guidelines. Responsibilities include researching and communicating regulatory requirements to stakeholders; investigating and resolving compliance issues; functioning as liaison to external agencies; preparing reports; managing documentation/databases; updating policies, procedures, and internal controls; conducting training.

Representative Duties

  • Research architectural, environmental, engineering, and other facilities-related regulatory mandates and guidelines; assess University facility operation and construction project impact; communicate information, provide advice, coordinate compliance; submit required reports
  • Conduct on-site compliance inspections; collect and review data; identify deficiencies; recommend changes, corrective actions, proposed solutions; prepare reports; monitor and follow-up as needed
  • Prepare University personnel for external facility compliance audits; conduct pre-audit inspections; function as liaison to external agencies; facilitate University response
  • Maintain and manage documentation and databases such those related to construction codes, construction drawings, building applications and permits, variance submissions, occupancy certificates, greenhouse gases, water and air quality, compliance inquiry and violation reports
  • Keep abreast of regulatory requirements and emerging sustainability and industry trends; disseminate information to relevant parties including project managers, coordinators, contractors, architects, engineers, etc.; update policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Develop, implement, and conduct education and training programs
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

– May plan and forecast budgets

Salary Structure
  • Comp Grade – 12
  • Minimum – $76,700.00
  • MidPoint – $95,900.00
  • Maximum – $115,100.00
