Editor – Senior Supervisor (PSU0767)
Job Summary
Editors review, edit, and re-write a variety of documents and content for publications; ensure that all documents meet required and accepted format and content standards; evaluate content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
Representative Duties
- Proofread copy to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax
- Read, evaluate, and edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for publication, and confer with authors regarding changes in content, style, and organization
- Develop story or content ideas, considering identified target audience
- Prepare, rewrite, and edit copy to improve readability and accessibility (if applicable)
- Oversee publication production, including artwork, layout, typesetting, and printing, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget requirements
- Plan the contents of publications according to the publication's style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements.
- Allocate print space for story text, photos, and illustrations according to space parameters and copy significance
- Make manuscript acceptance or revision recommendations to the publisher
- Arrange for copyright permissions
- May write text, such as stories, articles, editorials, or newsletters
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 10
- Minimum – $61,800.00
- MidPoint – $75,700.00
- Maximum – $89,600.00
