Maintenance and Operations Supervisor – Senior Supervisor (PSU1629)
Job Summary
The Maintenance and Operations Supervisor oversees, trains, evaluates, hires, and conducts performance management activities for designated technical-service maintenance mechanics and other maintenance and operations staff; develops work plans, including tasks to be performed and time required; prioritizes and issues work assignments, provides direction to employees, and inspects work for quality, productivity, and efficiency; ensures safe work conditions for workers and customers through OSHA guideline compliance, personal protective equipment usage, and implementation of other occupational health programs for assigned area; participates in emergency planning and/or response; provides technical expertise for assigned area.
Representative Duties
- Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise staff and technical service employees
- Coordinate activities of assigned employees and plan work schedule (overtime, vacation requests, timecards, etc.)
- Implement, communicate, enforce, and make recommendations for work rules, policies, and procedures
- Develop training plans; ensure employees are trained on the most current methodologies, technology, and information available; maintain accurate records
- Manage employee relations issues; make recommendations and seek guidance as necessary
- Evaluate, prioritize, plan, and assign facilities maintenance and repair work orders
- Research, recommend, and order materials; coordinate with outside vendors; maintain, control, and regulate usage of inventory
- Meet and communicate with customers to discuss scope and requirements for proposed renovations, alterations, and major maintenance projects; provide informal estimates for services and/or sequence work
- Schedule, supervise, coordinate, and inspect projects performed in-house and by outside contractors/vendors to ensure a high level of quality and safety; ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
- Oversee the preventative maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Manage, administer, and monitor budget; work within established budget or spending limit
- Ensure a safe work environment for employees and customers; investigate accidents; review safety data; make and seek opportunities for improvement
- Follow Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 10
- Minimum – $61,800.00
- MidPoint – $75,700.00
- Maximum – $89,600.00
