Landscape Operations Supervisor – Supervisor (PSU1679)
Job Summary
Landscape Operations Supervisors directly supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in landscaping and groundskeeping assignments. Supervisor responsibilities include hiring, training, and evaluating personnel; scheduling, prioritizing, inspecting, and monitoring work; providing technical expertise/consultation; developing and administering budgets; monitoring inventory; communicating and enforcing standards; ensuring a safe work environment; adhering to and enforcing policy, regulatory, and bargaining unit requirements.
Representative Duties
- Hire, train, evaluate and supervise staff and technical service employees engaged in landscaping and groundskeeping activities
- Prioritize, schedule, and assign work crews and equipment; inspect hardscape and softscape
- Monitor landscape construction projects; ensure design guidelines and job specifications are met
- Coordinate work with outside vendors, contractors, and subcontracted workforce; provide informal estimates for services
- Consult with engineers, designers, architects, etc.; provide turfgrass, agronomy, arboriculture, horticulture, and hardscaping consultation
- Monitor programs in assigned area; analyze problems; recommend/implement solutions
- Direct composting and snow removal operations
- Schedule and monitor equipment repair and maintenance
- Administer work unit budget; identify cost containment measures; monitor inventory; research, recommend, and order equipment/materials
- Communicate, enforce, and make recommendations for work rules, policies, and procedures
- Ensure a safe work environment and regulatory compliance; participate in emergency planning and response; investigate accidents and prepare reports; seek and implement improvement opportunities
- Follow Collective Bargaining Agreement provisions; participate in grievance procedures, hearings, and arbitrations as required

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

Salary Structure
- Comp Grade – 9
- Minimum – $56,200.00
- MidPoint – $68,800.00
- Maximum – $81,500.00
