Job Summary

The Early Childhood Development Educator instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in an early care and education facility; develops curriculum activities and experiences within the framework of early learning standards; provides and maintains a safe, secure, and stimulating classroom environment; fosters positive relationships with families; and works collaboratively with a classroom and center wide teaching and support team.

Representative Duties

  • Plan, develop, deliver, and facilitate developmentally appropriate and engaging experiences for children in all development and learning areas within the framework of the state early learning standards
  • Prepare lesson plans to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth; integrate curriculum into daily routines, lesson plans, developmental experiences, and assessments; individualize curriculum experiences to meet student needs
  • Ensure a safe and supportive classroom environment; maintain classroom security and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Create learning materials and aids
  • Develop and facilitate assessments to monitor student progress
  • Maintain student records and data; prepare reports
  • Supervise classroom aides, interns, and students; complete appropriate evaluations
  • Maintain communication with parents; provide guidance, education and suggestions; partner with parents to establish individual student goals
  • Support and promote child and family diversity by integrating family culture, language, and ability into classroom curriculum
  • May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management

  • MidPoint – $38,700.00
